Monarch Landing’s 11th Annual Club and Committee Fair on October 15th was a testament to the fact that there really is something for just about everybody at the senior living community. The event featured many of Monarch Landings resident groups that reflect virtually every conceivable interest, talent, and ability. “Our residents have so many different hobbies which are showcased during this event,” said Sherry DeFillippo, lifestyles manager at Monarch Landing.

All the clubs and committees on campus are encouraged to participate, setting up booths that display what they do. There are more than 60 different groups including a bike club, investing/wealth management club, line dancing, model railroad, travel club, and so many more. If residents are interested in something for which there isn’t already a program in place, DeFillippo encourages them to go ahead and get something started, with the staff’s support.

“We were really pleased with the attendance this year. This event is especially nice for those residents who are new, as it assists them in getting involved. It’s also nice though, for residents who are looking to get more involved with the many opportunities throughout the community,” she said.
